Patuli has a particular kind of guest list. Township neighbours from the blocks, colleagues from the office, family from the districts arriving by train at Garia Station, and relatives from north Kolkata who will take the Metro if you make it easy for them.
Four different journeys, four different arrival times. Which is why choosing a banquet hall in Patuli is really a question about connectivity, not just about the hall.
Listing sites are no help here. They show you halls without a single travel detail, and none of them mention that Garia Station and Kavi Subhash Metro sit right next to each other, which is the most useful fact in this whole area. So this guide covers the real rates, the real halls nearest to you, and the train and Metro times that actually decide how your day runs.
Patuli, Hiland Park, Panchasayar and the Garia Station area sit at one of the best connected points in South Kolkata. Here is what that means in practice.
Garia Station and Kavi Subhash Metro are neighbours. This is the detail that changes everything. Guests arriving by train on the Sealdah South line get off at Garia and are within walking distance of the Metro terminus. Guests coming by Metro from north or central Kolkata ride the Blue Line to the same point.
Two Metro lines meet there. Kavi Subhash is where the Blue Line from Dakshineswar and Tollygunge meets the newer line running along the EM Bypass. So relatives in Salt Lake and New Town have a route in that does not involve crossing the city by road.
Train guests have it simplest of all. Families coming from Sonarpur, Baruipur, Canning, Diamond Harbour or Namkhana all pass through Garia Station. For a Bengali wedding where half the paternal side lives down the line, this matters more than any hall feature.
Road access in three directions. NSC Bose Road runs south to Kamalgazi, Raja SC Mallick Road runs north through Baghajatin and Jadavpur, and the EM Bypass is minutes away through Panchasayar.
No aggregator page will give you these, so here they are. Treat them as normal-traffic estimates and add a buffer for a Saturday evening.
By train to Garia Station. From Sealdah on the South section, roughly 30 to 35 minutes. From Sonarpur about 10 minutes, Baruipur about 20, Canning and the Diamond Harbour side around an hour depending on the service.
By Metro to Kavi Subhash. From Esplanade or Park Street, roughly 40 minutes on the Blue Line. From Tollygunge, about 15. From the Salt Lake and Bypass side, use the Bypass line into Kavi Subhash.
From Garia Station to the halls. Nikunja Banquet at Kamalgazi More is a short drive south down NSC Bose Road, generally under ten minutes. VCCCH Banquet at Baghajatin is a similar distance north through Patuli.
Put this on your invitation card. One line saying "nearest station Garia, nearest Metro Kavi Subhash" saves you around fifty phone calls on the day. Very few families think to do it.
Nikunja Banquet sits on the 4th floor of the Kamalgazi Municipality Market Building at Kamalgazi More, above Narendrapur Thana and behind Sakti Sangha Club. If you live in Patuli or near Garia Station, you have driven past it many times.
It is run by Pradhan Banquet Group, which operates 9 AC halls across 7 South Kolkata locations, and it carries the group's lowest wedding rate.
There is a second reason families choose it. Nanir Rupkatha, the group's own bridal makeover studio, runs from the same building. On the wedding day the bride gets ready two floors from the hall, with no car ride in full makeup and no traffic panic.
Decoration included in every slab.
For a Patuli family that wants a proper AC hall wedding without crossing into lakh-and-a-half territory, this is the honest answer. More on the locality in our Kamalgazi and Narendrapur venue guide.
Head north from Patuli instead and you reach VCCCH Banquet at Baghajatin, a short drive through the township.
VCCCH has two separate gates that work as two venues. Gate 1 suits mid-size weddings and receptions. Gate 2 is the larger option, useful when a Patuli township guest list grows the way township guest lists do.
Gate 1
Gate 2
Small events at either gate
Our Baghajatin locality guide covers that area in more detail, including small party options.
A quick way to decide.
Choose Nikunja if budget is the deciding factor, your guest list is moderate, most guests are arriving via Garia Station or from the Sonarpur and Baruipur side, or the bride wants her makeover in the same building. At ₹1,00,000 for a 12-hour wedding with decoration, nothing in this belt matches it on value.
Choose VCCCH if your guest list is large, you want the extra room that Gate 2 gives, or more of your family sits on the Jadavpur, Bijoygarh and Baghajatin side.
Still unsure? See both in one afternoon. They sit on opposite sides of Patuli, roughly ten minutes apart, and the team will walk you through each.
Same at both halls, no surprises at the end:
Most families skip hall-only booking, and the arithmetic explains why.
Catering starts at ₹1,200 per plate, and with it the AC hall and decoration come complimentary. The venue and the decor, the two largest items in any function budget, fold into the food bill at no extra cost.
For a 250-guest wedding that is one number, one bill and one team, instead of separate advances to a decorator, a generator hire and a caterer.
The menu comes from the group's own Catering Destination kitchen: proper starters, a good fish preparation, mutton or chicken, rice items or biryani, and mishti to finish, with North Indian and Chinese options for a mixed crowd.
For the full breakdown of what an all-in package covers, see our guide to all inclusive wedding packages in South Kolkata.
Weddings and receptions. The 22-hour package covers a full biye or bou bhat without watching the clock.
Annaprashan and upanayan. Morning ceremonies fit the 6-hour slab neatly, and the separate cooking area matters when ritual food needs its own handling.
Birthdays and anniversaries. For 50 to 150 guests, the small event slabs give you a real AC hall instead of a cramped restaurant corner. Our guide to small banquet halls in South Kolkata covers this size range.
Township and club functions. Patuli runs on block associations and puja committees, and both halls take reunions and cultural evenings comfortably.
Across its nine halls the group serves events from 20 guests to 2,000, so the team can match you to the right room.
The main services come from the group's own sub-brands: Catering Destination for food, Pradhan Florist for flowers, lighting and decoration, The Bird's Eye for photography and videography, and Nanir Rupkatha for bridal and party makeover.
On the day, these teams already know the hall and each other, so nobody is calling a stranger at seven in the morning about the mandap flowers.
Book winter dates early. November to February weekends go 4 to 6 months ahead in this belt. The 2026-27 season has very few weekend wedding dates, so competition is sharper than usual.
Plan around train timings, not just the muhurat. If a large group is coming from Canning or Diamond Harbour, check the return service times before fixing your evening schedule. Nothing sours a reception like fifty guests leaving at nine to catch the last train.
Print the station and Metro on the card. "Nearest station Garia, nearest Metro Kavi Subhash" is the single most useful line you can add.
Visit at your event's actual hour. A morning annaprashan and an evening reception show you two completely different halls.
Give an honest headcount. Township word of mouth travels fast. Invite 250 and plan for a few more. Per-plate bookings adjust a few days before the event.
For Patuli township, Hiland Park and Garia Station families, the summary is simple. Two AC halls sit within ten minutes of you in opposite directions, weddings run from ₹1,00,000 with decoration included, small events from ₹50,000, and per-plate packages start at ₹1,200 with the hall and decoration complimentary.
See photos and check availability at Pradhan Banquet Group, then compare with anything else you have collected.

Nikunja Banquet at Kamalgazi More is a short drive south down NSC Bose Road, generally under ten minutes from Garia Station. VCCCH Banquet at Baghajatin is a similar distance north through Patuli. Both are fully air conditioned with decoration included in every package.
At Nikunja, weddings and receptions are ₹1,00,000 for 12 hours and ₹1,20,000 for 22 hours, with small events from ₹50,000. At VCCCH, Gate 1 runs ₹1,45,000 to ₹1,75,000 and Gate 2 ₹1,75,000 to ₹2,00,000, with small events from ₹70,000. Decoration is included throughout.
Guests arriving by train use Garia Station on the Sealdah South line, roughly 30 to 35 minutes from Sealdah. Metro guests ride the Blue Line to Kavi Subhash at New Garia, which sits beside the railway station and also connects to the Bypass line. Both halls are a short auto or car ride from there.
Yes. Both halls allow in-house catering or an outside caterer, with a separate cooking area provided either way. Decoration, lighting and sound are handled by in-house vendors only, which keeps the setup quality consistent.
VCCCH Gate 2 at Baghajatin is the roomier option for big guest lists, at ₹1,75,000 for 12 hours and ₹2,00,000 for 22 hours. For moderate lists on a tighter budget, Nikunja at ₹1,00,000 is the better value. Call +91 80171 29924 and the team will advise based on your numbers.
